Idaho State University: Fine Arts Building

ISU Fine Arts

Built in 1965, the Fine Arts Building on the Idaho State University campus is four stories of classrooms, chorus, practice and instrumental rooms, and hosts a variety of events that support the arts. Gorenson Hall is the main theater in the Fine Arts Building and seats 450, while other spaces are dedicated as dance studios, art gallery, and support spaces. Several issues in this facility were occurring, including issues with room pressures that caused doors to hold open.

NWESI provided renovation of the HVAC systems. Heating and cooling for this facility was provided by seven 2-pipe hydronic heating and cooling air handler units. These units were tested, adjusted, and balanced to the specified air and water requirements. Balancing was done on ceiling diffusers with manual volume dampers set to NEBB standards.
