Erik Rottman, CxA

Commissioning Authority

Raised in the Portland metro area, Erik attended Oregon State University planning to become an Engineer like his grandfather. His love for the outdoors and desire to be in the woods resulted in a Forestry Degree. Upon graduation, Erik took an opportunity to pursue a career in a new interest – fermentation science. Working at a brewery taught Erik the importance of proper operation and maintenance procedures for various processes and equipment. His desire to be closer to family, friends, and future wife, brought Erik back to the Portland area in 2012 where he joined NWESI.

Primarily a member of the Commissioning team, Erik’s versatility has allowed him to assist with almost every service offered by NWESI. After gaining enough experience (and passing the exam), Erik earned his credential as a Commissioning Authority in 2020. Erik’s enthusiasm for building system commissioning has grown over the years, but he yearns to refine and improve the commissioning process. When not working, Erik enjoys being outside with his family. They might be seen camping, boating, biking, snowboarding, skiing, surfing, hiking, or finding other ways to enjoy the great outdoors.
