VA Eagle Point National Cemetery: Admin and Maintenance Buildings

Eagle Point National Cemetery, located near Medford, Oregon, is operated by VA National Cemetery Administration. This project involved the replacement of existing administrative and maintenance buildings that were undersized and in poor condition. One building houses administrative staff, lobby, conference facilities, and restrooms for visitors. Another building has a maintenance shop for grounds equipment as well as locker and break rooms for operators. A third building provides storage of materials and equipment. Notable features include energy efficient geothermal heating and cooling system and biological wastewater treatment system for cleaning of grounds equipment.

Scope: NWESI provided commissioning services for building envelope, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, safety, and security systems.  Key contributions included identifying improper installation of materials and equipment, installation of unapproved materials and equipment, lack of necessary maintenance access, and improperly conducted tests.  A replacement contractor was hired to take care of all the issues.
