Challenge: Middleton Elementary School was opened for instruction in the fall of 2000, before construction work had been completed. Even after construction was apparently complete, a large number of comfort, operation, and noise complaints surfaced.

Solution: NWESI was hired by to perform Forensic Commissioning of all mechanical systems in order to better establish the current condition of these systems and to recommend steps needed to remediate any problems discovered. This work was structured as a sampling survey designed to uncover general issues and systemic problems.

Result: The information provided by NWESI allowed the school district to understand the condition of their mechanical systems and peruse negotiation to remedy deficiencies. Remediation is pending conclusion of negotiations.
